Common Table

Common Table, 12 miles from Brunswick and the Bowdoin College campus, and open year round, offers 3 rooms for lodging, outdoor weddings, customized meals for groups of 8 to 20 people, indoor meeting space and prix fixe meals on Friday and Saturday.

Bed and Breakfast and so much more!

Wake up to the smell of home cooking and the aroma of fresh coffee. Overnight accommodations include 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths for up 10 people. Breakfast is a hearty meal that gets your day off to the right start. Menu is different every morning. Food restrictions or preference? No problem.

A Quiet Space

The library offers a quiet space for reading, reflecting, working on a puzzle, playing games, watching a movie or sleeping in a comfortable chair. There are children's games, movies and books to share for our younger and young-at-heart guests.

Our Gardens and Grounds

Situated on nine acres of land with a pond, woodlands and a lot of space for a quiet walk, the Inn is perfect for family reunions, parties or any other special occasions. Weddings, receptions, barbeques, lobster bakes and other outdoor parties are available from June 1 to September 30. Use of a variety of outdoor games (i.e., crochet, horseshoes, ring toss, volleyball, etc.) is available at your request.

Bob and Deb encourage all to return to the earth and enjoy the natural beautiful of the setting. In spring, summer and fall, flower and vegetable gardens (weeding help is always welcomed) add to the property.

A large deck with two canopies provides the perfect spot to enjoy Maine summers. As our guest you can simply sit and watch birds, dine, listen to the peepers and bull frogs, or star gaze in the hot tub.

Special Events

It's the perfect place to celebrate special occasions. When looking for a private, affordable, coastal Maine setting for an anniversary dinner, bridal shower, holiday party or other special functions, think Common Table. We offer a flexible menu and detailed planning to meet your needs. Just tell us what you want and we can make it happen within a reasonable budget.

Just a short walk to the ocean

There is so much to do in our area. Common Table is surrounded by plentiful seasonal, no cost, low-cost opportunities to get out and about – antiquing, outlet shopping, leaf peeping, nature walks, bike riding & beaches, snow-shoeing, cross country skiing, ice skating, and sledding are all within an hour's drive.

Guests are never bored.

A gathering place for small groups

Seeking a comfortable place to work, study, plan or just get away for some relaxation and good food.

Our meeting room with big overstuffed chairs, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a fireplace for those fall, winter or early spring meetings offers a quiet space for listening, brainstorming or discussions. A library and varied outside areas can be used for break out sessions, or relaxed conversation. The entire Inn and its 9-acre grounds are available for those free time breaks. The ocean is a very short walk away, too!

Menus are custom-planned based on the preference of your group. Deb sits down with you and helps to plan your meal(s). Food is prepared on the premises.

As I sit at my dining room table, I am envisioning your “Common Table” and the enormous contribution it made to our group during our weekend retreat. What a treasured spot with beautiful gardens. You and Bob went the extra mile to make everything just PERFECT.

Weddings and Receptions

Looking for an outdoor private wedding and reception in a Maine coastal setting? Bob, Deb and crew work hard to meet your every need.

Everything for your wedding can happen at Common Table. Sleeping accommodations for you and your guests are available in our farmhouse. When our guest rooms are booked for a two night minimum, there is NO FACILITY CHARGE. Beautiful gardens, ocean breezes, wild flowers and ample parking are available for your ceremony. Catering with casual elegance for your reception, rehearsal dinner, morning-after brunch and/or "meet the parents" cocktail party all can be provided by Common Table.

We have services to assist with your planning and reasonable prices to help you stay within your budget. There are no set menus. We sit down with you and custom plan the foods you would like to have at your reception. Many ingredients are grown on site in our own vegetable garden. Local vendors are used whenever possible.

Common Table does not have a liquor license. If you choose to set up your own bar, it is your responsibility to provide the drinks, mixers, and other necessary items. These savings are passed on to you. Bartending, however, is provided by the Common Table.
